Reporting to the Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability of a competent workforce through enhancement of knowledge, skills, career development and performance based reward systems. amongst the following other responsibilities:
Implement strategies, policies and standards pertaining to staff training and development, career development and performance management.
Come up with training programs that expose staff to opportunities that develop their skills and competencies in preparation for further growth, development and taking up new responsibilities.
Managing E-learning programs.
Manage the performance management system, to include developing and monitoring performance evaluations, performance development plans, and performance improvement plans.
Liaises with the Divisional Heads and comes up with a succession plan for the critical positions and Divisional Heads, Departmental Heads and Team Leaders.
Design policies and procedures to guide mentoring and coaching in the Hospital.
Promote relations with relevant external training institutions and agencies and soliciting for technical assistance including training sponsorship.
Design strategies for assessing the impact of training programmes on employee performance
and making necessary interventions to ensure training programmes respond effectively to
Hospital skill needs.
Identify training and development needs through job analysis, performance appraisals and consultation with line managers amongst others.
Provide logistical support and advisory services to line managers for departmental training.
Participate in HR research and providing support to other departments on Hospital research
Developing and implementing soft skills program for the business
Implement programs that promote the organizational culture, business thinking and enhance our competitive advantage
Developing and implementing technical skills development programs
Manage the Hospital training calendar.
Prepare and manage the training budget and prepare monthly training reports.
Follow up on NITA reimbursements for the trainings facilitated.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Strong relationship management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills Effective leadership skills.
Effective advisory skills.
Excellent planning and logistical skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of different roles.
BSc/BA in relevant field and a Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management. Masters will be an added advantage.
7 years’ relevant experience, 3 of which must be in a supervisory position. Hospital experience will be an added advantage.
Registration with, and a Practicing Certificate from, the Institute of Human Resource Management, Kenya.
